Hi,

I'm looking to add to my tools but dont have a lot to spend, any suggestions for reasonable quality at a low price?

I have been looking at these but just wondered if anyone has tried a set of these hex drivers and could advise on quality.

Ebay Item number: 150726528506

Cheers
Alan

Don't know about quality Alan, but those are all metric and won't work on your Losi or your 1/12th. For those you need 0.05", 1/16" and 3/32" drivers.

Hex drivers are worth spending money on. Decent ones are made from hardened steel with the hex end ground into it so it's accurate. Those on ebay don't look like the best quality steel although obviously it's hard to tell from a picture and I wouldn't want to recommend a no name make of tool from the far east.

When you get decent drivers they will last for ages so cost less in the long run as you don't have to replace them, low quality drivers will wear, and when that happens they can easily damage screws. A prime example are the screws in the bottom of your RC12L4, a slightly worn allen key or hex driver will very quickly round out the socket in the screw head.
If you want best value I would suggest the Fastrax hex driver sets, metric (http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/FAST617.html) and imperial (http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/FAST613.html). I use a mix of Team Magic, Fastrax Pro and Hudy drivers at home but at the club I have a set of these instead, they have small handles so easy to fit in the toolbox while having good hard tips so you don't damage the screws. Only downside is the handles being small means you can't get as good a grip on them, but it does make it faster to spin screws in and out.
