Thermal cut out?
What servo? If I remember rightly the tekin has a pants bec circuit that struggles with high drain servo's

The rs has a 7.5 motor limit, it's probably just the thermal cut out coz you are running a 6.5 motor. You really should try a slower motor before looking at anything else.

I could be wrong but I taught the rs has a limit of 5.5 and the rs pro has no limit?

rs spec
Motor Limit Brushless Mode: 7.5 Turn, 540 2-pole (36mm)

rs pro spec
Motor Limit Brushless: 2.5T 540 2-pole (36mm)

your motor is to hot for your speedo im afraid. you need 7.5 or less

If you are running mod in 4wd, you really need to have the Pro.... if it is happening at 4 mins, you are likely to be getting a thermal shut down.... You can try soldering two of the RS Capacitors to the battery terminals, and using a fan blowing directly over the solder posts. There is a good picture of a fan install on Graham Norths 410.

Hi
The RS was rated at 5 turn limit this time last year? Looks like it's been re-rated. I've been running a Tekin RS and a Tekin 6'5 in a DEX410 on a 22 pinion with no probs. I have cut the two cooling vents on the body and opened the back of body a bit to get some air flow. I have also mounted the heat sink side of the ESC and cap' next to the spur gear as the spur moves a lot of air when spinning and gives a lot of 'free' cooling. I don't have a HotWire so have been running standard settings from a year ago, they may be more agressive now? I've only thermaled mine once after about 12 mins mid summer. Dont swap anything on car and try again, when (or before) it stops check the onboard LED's on ESC and this will tell you if your ESC is (or is near) thermaling. From what I've read the Tekin's BEC can struggle to supply enough current for a high torque servo like yours but this should show as a quick cutout then the car would be good to go after a couple of seconds. Most people fit a capacitor to the receiver to fix this. If yours is taking 30 seconds to go again sounds like thermaling.

Hi Nige
I have run mine with a Tekin RS with a Tekin 6.5 motor and Sanwa erg servo and Sanwa 2.4 on 24/87 with no thermal problems, i did use a heatsink on the motor and have a good airflow through the car.

Hey I was running my rs in my losi 22 with a 6.5 speed passion motor and never had any problems.i might turn my rs around as you make a good point about the spur giving cool air at the moment the heat sink is up against my reciver and doesn't have much air getting to it
