i dont really see it as a piss take but a fact of life! sure the team extreme drivers will do great with all the support and stuff but for the average joe they expect results right out of the box which ive never seen a pred to deliver! they are probably the fastest cars out there as long as you have the patience know how to get it!
i love you all really:wub awwwwww daz im seeing the soft side in you hahahahahaha:woot::woot::woot::woot:

I'd run one if they let me have it for £160 cos' i can get a B44 new for that money. If i can make it into the A final regionally with an almost standard ZX5 i can easily do it with an X11. I wouldn't take the p**s cos if you get beat by one and somebody on here see's you get beat dudes who will look the fool then man?

and daz i wil be keeping this car for the whole 2008 season and for 2009 if i can. i wont be selling it after just one meeting!

Oh hang on, I retract the statement... it seems the person I was thinking of has changed his mind before he settled on X11. (Matty: I didn't mention Shane)
Clone isn't such a bad thing, they do it because it works; neither is a unique design a bad thing, innovation is the general way of progression, its just taste.

well chris who else would you have meant? the only other person i could think of was daz for selling his bj4 after one meeting. and actually shane had other very good reasons for not having the x11 which have nothing to do with changing his mind or not wanting the car.
i never suggested anything bad about the other 4wd's having the same chassis layout, i used to race a bj4we remember and it was a great car.

I think if Xtreme had a top F1 driver then the "up and coming" drivers would have something to work with and also someone to develop parts and future cars. As it is at the moment and i dont want to offend anyone here, they have average regional drivers which isnt a bad thing because they will be quick at there respective clubs but never really set the world alight or be able to give feedback that a National top 20 driver can.
The only thing that i wonder is, why cant they attract top drivers??

What you need is one of those hauler bags that fits a car in, and stick to one shell design, she won't see it so often and when she does, she'll think its the same car!!! Although, I think you'd benefit from not changing cars for a while.

Maybe other companys should look at ( average regional drivers ) surely it isnt all about top 20 drivers all the time , i think these lads who have got the drive for xtreme have alot to offer .
I agree and i am not knocking them or the car, but i think a quick national driver would help bring them and the car along:)

You kinda answered your own question there! what im getting at is that there is a lot of kids out there sponsored by the bank of mum! now take this into consideration! kid goes online, sees theis amazing and radical looking car (an x11), goes to mum and she buys them one. next think of this. you could go out and buy say a xxx4/bj44 or whatever. they (in comparrison to a pred) handle a lot more predictable eg indoor a set of yellow mini pins n your nearly there! where as with a pred they take a good bit of coaxing to get them on the pace! ive done and seen it all myself so im not just spouting speculation. what im saying is a pred aint a beginners car even though a lot of beginners will buy one

Very true. And in rallyx Horizon admit this. You sell more cars if normal every day regional drivers see a good local boy do well with a car. A lot of the top drivers in the uk and the world would do well no matter what they drove. Years ago Jamie Booth showed this with the tamiya.......Did we all rush out and buy tamiyas?:eh?:.

I can see what Rowan is saying here, but why would somone start a thread causing arguments, Yes people are allowed to have an opinion on a car. But why has this all come about soon as some " mid table regional drivers " come into this ?
I mean come on lads its hardly fair to give some stick is it ? Alot of people just see it becasue its differnt or people think it may not be so good but have they actually driven one. It may take time to get somthings right.. isnt that whats supposed to be fun about this sport ? tweaking, testing and playing around with things..
Of course cars do break, yes me and andy broke a couple of bits last night, But hey Andys car was fast, he had never drove a predator before i dont think and its just finding youre feet with a car. THINGS BREAK AT THE END OF THE DAY.
Alot of people tend to jump on the bandwagon alot with cars and follow senior opinions on somthing rather than look and discovering things for them selfs which really really annoys me. No matter what people say the predator is a fast car and looks the part on all levels, its a top design and performs when right..
Some people say the BJ4WE is easy to drive, some dont. Just the other week a chap had a BJ4we who sold it because it didnt feel right for him.. How do people know the predator is a bad car until they actually get one out on the track and see for them selfs...
Im not out to get into arguments with everyone, But you have to see peoples veiws from all points.

Lee,
The car was good, It did change direction quickly and was good and was fun to drive, Didnt make a really high spot but the car was running from brand new and things are finding there feet still and so am i mate although i have had some expirence with the car before ( X10 ) .
Overall time will tell and it can only get better from now on. After round by round my confidence grew from trundling over the big jump to giving it full bore in the last round and finals and i was progresivly quicker round by round with the car making slight changes here and there.
The car had plenty of grip on the polish which i noted alot of cars didnt and swiching round the hair pin bends and quick corners nothing on the track as far as i could see was close.

Progressive suspension is notoriously ridiculously hard to set up, which should be the effect the pred achieves with it's laydown suspension (if i understand the geometry correctly) it also has a lot more tuning options on it from what I've seen, rear toe for instance (although I admit I haven't looked that closely).
All of these in the right hands are valuable tools, and in the wrong hands something else to not get right. Personally I'm in the wrong hands group (so far :woot:) although I'd love the option of changing the rear toe on my B4.
Think that's kinda what the original poster was poking at with the joke stick.

That's the thing, most people don't realise how clever the Pred is due to the progressive suspension - there's not been another off road car with this!
Once set-up you will hardly ever have to change it but i still believe this car could make regular top 10's in the right hands.
I can't help but look at this whole sponsorship as a way to gain drivers and still make money as they've given people a chance to feel like they're sponsored but haven't ACTUALLY sponsored anyone (in my book, sponsored really means an A-Team drive where you don't pay for things) - i'm not saying there's anything wrong with it at all, but they've probably managed to get people to drive the car that otherwise wouldn't have due to them offering them "sponsorship" so to speak - Quite clever really!

Yep, Ive had a B team drive, and that year racing cost me more than when I was unsponsered. As I was lured by the drive, And yes there were more sponsered drivers driving the car in question than unsponsered.

Nick Goodall = nail-head-hitter, my point exactly (reffering to my previous post)
Righty i started this thread as a innocent joke what has got out of hand!!!!
First thing, i was not dissing the car in any shape or form i have never driving a pred so how can i judge it?
And i was not having a go at garry or the mandys about the sponsership deal there have got, good luck to them hope they do well:thumbsup:
The joke was aimed at shane who seems to change his cars more than his socks, which he and everyone knows is just the guys at our club having a laugh.
It doesnt matter what cars we drive we all do it cos we enjoy it:D. And if anyone wants to have a laugh and a joke(like me) try not to take it to heart most of us dont mean any harm..
