For those who want to see the Club survive so that the NE keeps one of its outdoor venues, on behalf of the Club, I would like to thank the few volunteers who turned up yesterday to spend some time clearing up after the flood. The container is now in a state where racing can be controlled but the track still needs some more work on it.
It is the intention to meet at 10 am prior to racing on Sunday, weather permitting. It will be interesting, yet again, to see how many turn up at 10 am and how many arrive when the work is finished.
As you all know, I am not a racer, my son Mark is no longer a racer, I am still recovering from a serious illness, yet I turned up yesterday to help with cleaning, mopping up excess water, sweeping etc. I work for the club voluntarily - why? I do not want to see the Club disappear like so many before it - I am disappointed that a lot of you do not feel the same way!!:(
