Has anyone ever taken a punt on the cheap receivers found on ebay, [example] (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181-Mini-FM-40Mhz-4Ch-Receiver-3-5gram-Suit-FUTABA-/200597959800?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2eb491f478), did they work?

not tried them personally but with the dominance of 2.4 ghz you can pick up 40 mhz rx's for a few quid now . i recently bought a novak xxl and ko 297 for less than a tenner its not worth the hassle anymore

Found Cirrus 40Mhz FM receivers worked fine with KO Tx and crystals - £6 a pop new.
