Rudebits sent news of their new chassis and accessories for the hugely successful CML C4.1 2WD buggy conversion for the Associated B4.1

The 'Type R' chassis features countersunk pockets to accommodate adjustable brass weights for extra tuning - all seperately available from RudeBits.
The weights don't have to be used and Rudebits also have another version of the chassis called the "Type S" - that simply hasn't got the countersunk pockets.



Made from special 2.8mm carbon and designed to be flexible without the risk of tweaking.


Chamfered rear section for clearance of the wishbones as well as clearance for the gearbox and motor


Front kick up all built in to the carbon fibre

Looks very very nice almost to nice lol.
I am probly going to catch some flak for this but back in the late 80s early90s AE came out with the RC10 team car in black alluminum and flat carbon, i bought the ally car and my racing partner bought the carbon the ally car was much easier to drive fast, more forgiving. ( still have a black tub team car)
He tried for a whole season and could not get it to be faster than mine and he was a faster driver (not by much).
That looks like a very sweet piece but i will stick with my alluminum chassis thankyou.:)

I won't be changing without good reason - and the C4.1 as it is handles awesome... So would be interesting to hear from somebody unbiased either way, how it effects the handling of the car. As the flex properties of CF is miles different to Alloy, also one batch of CF can be very different to the next, whereas Alloy is consistent. Didn't Tom Yardy test CF before going to Alloy and favour Alloy? - hence the kit chassis is Alloy.

Noticed in the photos, holes in chassis to mount servo, but no holes in the brass which covers those holes.... must be prototype in the photos.

The original C4.1 was designed and tested around carbon at the beginning but it is so expensive to make the design switched to alloy.

With kick up built in, the chamfers, the milled out pockets and so on and the extra thickness, it contributes to an expensive chassis for sure. <O:p</O:p
If the C4.1 was produced with this it would be near £300 for the conversion. You would all be saying it's not worth it and it's too expensive if CML offered you that.

Please do not misunderstand me, the standard C4.1 is a great car and many of you will not want to change but for the ones out there that want the very best in a chassis that will never be out of true, then this is the one.<O:p></O:p>

Just another note that was missed out by me trying to get details out to you all.
This chassis is a massive 100g lighter than the standard C4.1 alloy one and gives you the option to put that very weight were you want as a tuning option. Bare in mind you may not even want to add it.

Standard = 176g
Type R = 74g

60g under lipo
How much does it way without weights compared to the 3.2 chassis?

We have moved to the 3,2mm chassis these days as after many laps testing the 3,2mm is faster and still generates enough flex for the added grip.
Weights are avaiable in different sizes for under Lipo, from 34g moving up to 62g, 74g and even 104g.

Its is also cheaper than the one with the pockets for the brass so a little more affordable

We used to carry them as stock but now they are a turnaround of around 5-7 days from the time of order. Sometimes quicker. We are always trying to get it to the racers at the earliest possible time.....
