Track looks technical rather than "air-time".

Nice one Phil, track looks far more sensible this time!! That quad last year was a joke from what Lee told me, even if you got it right the wind could just blow your car off line anyway lol

Writing from the track, about 12:30 on Thursday.

Cragg, Martin, Bradders, Truman. Also Hupo (Driving X - 6 & 60), Peter, and Jorn. Gerd is here wrenching for Jorn.

Full Japanese teams, with Masami & Hayato. Teams from Yokomo, Tamiya, Kyosho, Hot Bodies.

And all the usual US suspects, Ryan, Ryan, Jared, Mike, Billy, Jesse, Travis, and a certian BK.

Track is just dialled -- no giant jumps like last year, but a good folwing track that will give your Brits a good test and will be extremely competitive.

We'll be posting words & pix shortly on our sites.

Pidge says he's well chuffed. One small mistake in his run but still really happy. He said he was only about a second behind Masami before Masami crashed, so he's proper on the pace!

He's already got a 3 to go with the 1, so looks like he'll be a pretty big factor in the A.

Pidge has qualified 3rd in 4wd. Spoke to him a while ago. Was tq'ing the last round until interference on the last lap cost him a time and put him behind Massami.

He is tied on points with Cav, Neil is BQ in 4wd but in the A in 2wd.

Both Hara and Amrezca took three buggies to worlds -- B4, RB5, and X - 6.

I think that pic from 4wdrc.com is Steve Butz's Academy.

We have more than 800 pix to sort through -- Jimmy was making fun of me all over the track shooting pix. Plus almost three hours of vids.

Second only to the worlds, I think Cactus has become the biggest race anywhere. Not dissing anyone or anyplace, just stating my belief. No other race gets so many world-class drivers from so many different places.

No foreigners at any national, no Japanese or Americans at Euros. Everybody at Cactus, and huge media coverage.

Just back home. What a great race, the track and facilities where superb, weather was great and the finals where just hands down the most exciting I have ever seen. Each class went to the third A main. Congrats to Tebo, cool guy, cool driver!

Also well done to Neil and Lee for making A mains, the competition was really intense so any slip ups in qualifying made it hard to get in there.

And finally thanks to Delta Airlines who lost my luggage on the way out so I had zero car stuff, thanks to everyone who lent me stuff so I could at least run!

Try adding &fmt=18 to the youtube url, youtube seem to be upgrading the quality on a lot of video clips, adding &fmt=6 is another.

Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9KfEXS7B38&fmt=18

you can also run them both side by side in different windows to compare, format 18 carries stereo from 9th March
