Hello chaps,
Just looking at painting a Durango wing. So, I would assume to paint the underneath, as you would a body, but the protective film is on the underneath... so, do you take it off and paint there anyway before plasti-kote-ing it do you just paint the top - THE RIGHT WAY AROUND - YAY  and then plasti-kote that ???
Wing advice greatly received - ta :)

I noticed the same thing with a Durango lookylikey wing from ebay this week. I cut it out then got all excited and started stickering it right up, then thought, hang on, I've left the clear protective film on and thought I'd ruined it... But, saved by the fact that the protective film was on the wrong side! Yay.

Personally I never paint the top (right way round ) I remove the film liquid mask and do the whole design as I would the inside of the body, then back with the colour I want on the outside, then clear.
Obviously if you want the a patten/design on the outside aswell the I would back it with white then work the right way round and clear (but you probably already knew that Ian :D)

Cheers guys...
Definitely not on both sides. Unsure what to do, could work it the right way around and just layer it up and then clear or could just do it the wrong way around and clear...
Decisions decisions :wtf: any more words of wisdon from the painting guru's we house in this section gratefully received :)

don't take the film of use it as liquid mask and cut your design in it, then remove and paint as shell, and yes paint goes on the bottom side facing down

Thanks for your help guys !
And cheers for the tip red - using the protection film as the mask, cool ! Shame the bodies don't come with on it on both sides we could do it for them as well then !
Manufacturers, are you listening to this ???

Defo paint the underside mate. They're usually moulded as part of the body, but the wrong way round, so the protective film is on the wrong side.
