Got my 408 kit today so thought id put up some pics of the build. its going to be running a rx8 2050 with a futuba s9351 servo r614ff receiver.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG753.jpg

into the next bag to build the center driveshafts

now onto the front end, must say i do like the plate under the diffs to stop the droop screws eating your chassis. Went for the carbon towers for the extra mounting holes. Found carbon towers to be miles for durable on my other 1/8 cars compared to stock so another good reason to grab one, not to mention they look sweet

very nice  I was thinking of swopping the losi eu for one but im going to run the eu for a year then see what happens from there. I do like this kit, it's the best looking that's for sure....

Got a bit more done today, started on the rear end. went for the rear carbon tower here also along with the ally diff braces. dont know if its an issue like it is with the 410s but decided to get it just incase. found the arms were binding so cleaned the holes with a 4mm reamer an its nice now.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG761.jpg

Next moved onto some driveshafts. have the option of different rear an front hubs, i went for 10degree on fronts and went for the standard rears instead of the +1. a set of shims come for the drive shafts marked as optional in the manual. i decided not to run these as it was a bit tight with one.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG765.jpg

Next onto the sway bars, the kit includes some but i am running a 2.2 front an a 2.0 rear from the options kit.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG768.jpg

Next comes the servo saver, went together easy but was very hard to tighten it to the required amount. installed the front chassis brace with it also

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG773.jpg

Rear brace, side pods an battery straps, manual isnt very clear in this part or else its my old age an lack of sight but got it figured out.

Then onto the turnbuckles, went for the lightweight option ones.

Thats as far as i am atm, will get a bit more done later. so far like the kit but the one thing im noticing compared to my hyperstar e is the lack of big 2.5mm cap head bolts. weather this is a good or a bad thing will soon be seen

are you not going to seal the carbon shock towers with super glue

Ive never sealed any towers ive ever had an never had a problem so far. probally scudded myself now lol

next i moved onto the body mounts an wing, as the carbon towers dont have the recesses cut into them like the standard ones i had to use 2 slightly longer bolts in the wing mounting, apart from that went together easy. built up the motor mount an installed the servo.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG781.jpg

Then moved onto the shocks, they are stunning, shame the shock boots hides the nice red shock bottoms. i decided to go for 1.3x6 front an rear, starting off with 35f 30r ae shock oils. I installed the black optional shock shafts, i run them in my desc so grabbed for this also. I didnt use the plastic balls supplied for the top of the shocks, i used Ryan Lutz method of the fuel tubing, can see pics of it on his website. Went for green losi fronts an silver losi rears after speaking with Randy Pike

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG784.jpg

Put my the rest of my electrics in, just need to solder up the rx8 an im done.

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee301/yamamapwc/408/IMG802.jpg

Even with the futuba receiver being tiny i still had to mount it on its side to use the supplied mounting plate. 1-2mm more is all i needed, may try to cut the mounting plate an have the receiver on the chassis at a later date. other than that was an easy an enjoyable build

This thread makes me want one even more! Just wondering, why doesn't it have a slipper? The beefier gears and motor can handle the landings ok then I guess?

only ran it once on 1/10 astro track, been waiting til i get back home to some dirt tracks before i spend any real time with it. the quick run i did have it was very responsive an felt more like a 1/10 car than my hyper did. excited to get back to my home track to get a nice setup.

I will say this though for anyone whos thinkin of getting it, if you do order it make sure you order the ally shock spacers as the ones that come in the kit are pants, broke front 2 in minutes.
