Surprised to see no info/opinions of this newby 2wd..

I've looked into this kit comparing it with other similarly priced RTR's when suggesting 'starter' brushed RTR 2wd's for friends. (ie, Mad Rat, TT Pheonix XB, FTX Edge)

To me it seems good because... it looks , strong, reasonable quality plastics, ball raced gearbox (maybe even the axles too ?), gear diff, reasonable 16T ESC limit (though only comes with a 23T) & half descent tyres (?)

Not so good because... it's at least £20 more expensive than other equivalent RTR's, (though admittedly includes a 1600Mah battery & slow charger), 27Mhz radio , no lipo voltage cut ESC, no adjustable turnbuckles, plastic telescopic driveshafts.

I kinda like it, recent mag review says it has a good chassis, capable of plenty more oomph (not sure the the telescopic driveshafts will like it... )

Anyone have one, race one, broke one yet ?

I saw two pre-production models at last year's LRP Offroad Challenge finals. One of them was hopped up with CVDs (from the Blast BX maybe), turnbuckles and different shocks IIRC. Both were running in the 13.5 turn 2WD class and seemed to do quite well.

It is also available with a 2.4 GHz radio and as a roller at approx, EUR 70.-.

The tyres are the LRP Offroad Challenge control tyres, which are said to be OK on carpet, but not at all great on any surface.

I recently talked to a local dealer about the car. He said that some of his customers had some good fun with it at the Megadrom Geilenkirchen (http://www.megadrom-geilenkirchen.de/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/offroad.jpg), an astro track laid out on a concrete and brick underground. According to him, the Twisters always kept coming back for more, so the car seems to be pretty tough indeed.

Are you already running lipos ?

I ran my ECX Boost (didn't want to get my x2c filthy, lol) with a 5000mah 30c Turnigy lipo with a £7 HPI 15T Fire bolt motor at our track last weekend & it flew, I was quite surprised tbh :D

If you're still using nimh's I'd try lipos first.

Hi

Yer I've got the 13t with 4000mah 25c gens ace lipos in now and it's quite rapid,

Took to a race meet for the first time and did ok, I've ordered a few hop ups for it, such as CVDs, adjustable turnbuckles and the adjustable shocks. Apex models stock all spare parts for the twister, enter the lrp product code in and it comes up too, there quite cheep.

the transparent windows are very beautiful.
also hopups are great!
my new twister (3) has a 4600 kv sidewinder v2 setup
tonight I might mount other springs because the standard blue feathers are too weak for the weight of the 5600 lipo and the motor.
I will also remove all VTEC stickers because they ruin the car.
I now have the car with a 21t pinion tested and temperatures stay well but this week I will test. pionion a 23t

If you have any tips please let me hear from you
you can also tell us something of the experience of the shock absorbers?
