Hi all,

My delicate little girly fingers are being hurt by the nasty R clips that hold the battery straps down.
Coupled with the fact that my saddle lipos are the tightest fit ever, its becoming annoying.

Does anyone know of a thumbscrew mod which I could use?
I know Trish made some for his SX3, but cant seem to get hold of him at the mo. :(

Many thanks and much love as always.

get some larger ended body pins. or add a tie wrap to the smaller ones, or get the pins with the rubber bit on.

I agree its fiddly, same on my sx3, but the above i have done and helps loads!

happy to help, the ones with larger finger bits defo make it easier to use.... so get a bag of them, couple quid, work a treat.... i use tie wraps on my pins on the shells and larger ones on the battery straps now, much easier.

Just back from the workshop, and looking inside the lipo retaining posts (i.e. the purple pointy bits that the R clips go into!) and they are definately threaded about 8mm into the post, but the top 8mm isnt.

I assumed I would be able to tap this out, but no luck, the darned steel seems to be fighting me and almost seems like fractionally smaller diameter than the lower (threaded) portion.

Anyone actually ever used thumbscrews in these things or is it impossible??!!!:bored::confused:
Im almost certain that I saw a piccy of Trish with them on an SX3.

Now Im stuck with the R clips. ARSE.

The kit comes with a cone washer and a M2.5 x 10mm countersunk screw for the top.

That's what I use on my SX3, but strangely not on my Cougar...

Note, screwing them down changes the flex as opposed to using a clip.

Cheers Simon! (long time no speak, sorry! Havent crashed in a while - I promise to crash more often and place my order with you! ;)

That explains why in older pictures of the Cat, I could see these purple conical thing holding down the lipo straps; but because I dont have a Cougar nor see one too often, I never knew it was a Cougar part!!!

**lightbulbs over head**!

So tihs is the part I need, and coupled with Noel's CREAM thumbscews I could be onto a winner:

Simon... any in stock? :p

EDIT -> dont need the lipo posts as they look identical to the Cat ones, so its just the conical washers.
Anyone got any lying around? :)

U3754 are the screws, handy to have spares, the hex strips out easily - it's a 1.5mm

Not got any in stock, and I don't have any spares of the conical washer top bit, I'm afraid.

I'm pretty sure they're only available as U3701.
