Ok guys so I've been advised by a few people about front tyres for my 2wd cobra (that currently has too much front grip), to use either Ribs, staggered ribs, or mini pins. Car will be raced indoors on carpet.
So I thought I'd throw it open to everyone to ask what are the relative merits of these types of tyres as I'm getting a few conflicting suggestions at the mo. This is obviously ment with no disrespect to the guys who have already offered advice as all is gratefully recieved. I just thought I'd get as many opinions as I could at the mo.
Car currently has dBoots Terrabytes on the front which are just too aggressive.
thanks in advance for all input

I would rate them in Aggressive to least
Terrabytes
Mini Pin
Cut Stag
Stag
Most use Stag's or cut stags up front if you need a tad more front end. But generally staggers are used. As there a safe bet, and can be more consistent to drive. A lot depends on driver and how the car is set up. I Prefer cut stagger's personally but I like to have a fair bit of front end. But some people prefer the opposite. Its all preference tbh..

Thanks Jamie. Just out of interest where would you put full ribs such as proline. Im assuming between cut staggered and mini pins

Um, I would put the Proline ribs at the bottom. I have never tried them but think they are too soft and don't dig in for astro use personally. But there good for the U.S. and dirt.
Terrabytes
Mini Pin
Cut Staggers
Staggers
PL Ribs
Thats the order I would put them in.

not raced 2wd on carpet but i would say mini pins most grip then cut staggered then staggered and probably ribs with least grip but thats not to say they wont be good for carpet :)

I know it is different to carpet but we race indoors on astro.
Grippiest first
Stagger no insert Dosent last as long with no insert.
Cut stagger with insert
Stagger with insert
This is all i have tried am going to try minispikes next as we are only allowed run Schumachers.

on my cougar, I have tried mini pins and stagers. yellows.
minipins are to much, grips loads and often makes the rear flip out.Unless you have new rears.
I prefer yl stagers, no inserts on carpet and astro. its a safe bet, easy to drive and not aggressive, the rear keeps in check and works for me........... they last forever as well, nearly.
and you can run the rear minipins till a little more worn that if you had pins on the front.
