Wanting to race a b4.1 rtr at robin hood raceway soon and wondering whether the supplied reedy system would be competitve.......my guess not. What turn is the reedy system and do the faster cars run around 6.5t?

RTR isn't upto the job on larger outdoor tracks IMO.

On the astro I used to run a Sphere TC and a SP V3 6.5 (in a B44). Geared correctly it's as fast as most people will ever need, but the vast majority of quality systems are more than good for it.
I may be getting confused with other RTR's, but are the driveshafts and such upto the job of fast brushless systems on the B4?

p.s. Nice to see you post outside of the for sale section!

Nothing wrong with the drivetrain on the car, but dont think the reedy would hugely fast down the main straight..

Try a decent 7.5 combo, more than enough if your just starting out..

Got a few people running these at Bury. On the whole, the motor isn't bad, a little slow but the fact its sensorless is more of an issue really. What I have noted though it that most people who replace them fit a 6.5t sensored system and actually end up lapping slower. Which leads me to believe that for a typical club racer on a track without massive straights its probably quick enough.

Cheers so maybe I should get a 7.5 or 8.5t system? Im leaning towatds a used cougar sv at present then buy the system seperately. If I got a 6.5t combo surely I could tone it down a little with the programming card?

Could someone please send me a link to a good esc and motor combo which would suit my needs? ie fast enough to do well but not so fast the car just wheelspins everywhere....thankyou.

Thanks for the plug Adam but unfortunately the orca systems are hard to come by at the moment and we have none left in stock.

I've been very pleasently suprised by how powerful, yet super smooth the orion gear is. (again stocked by inside line racing ;))

You could easily start off with a 7.5 or 8.5 motor. dont think they come in combo's but definitely worth considering

That's got to win understatement of the year award mate!

I have been waiting for a warranty replacement Orca Vritra Pro ESC since September last year!! When I bought it, it was £180 of modern technology. By the time I get the replacement it will be an out of date model...

Thats not on  I would have to ask for my money back or even a more up to date model.

I have been tempted more than once mate. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I didn't buy it from Answer. The shop I bought it from went bust so Answer RC were helping me out by letting me deal directly with them.

No it's not mate and like I said earlier, by the time I get the replacement it is going to have decreased in value. But there isn't a lot I can do other than wait.... And wait..... And wait..... :eh?:

Hi eamo, you were talking about coming down to race at Mansfield, if so you will be able to look at some different systems there and see them in action. We have plenty of buggies running budget systems up to the expensive stuff, so it would be very useful for you ;-)
