just wondering what servo you lot are using for the rango short course. i've got a savox low profile sitting around (1251mg i think??) is that gunna be ok??
Also wondering about your 540/550 preference??
Cheers Jay
Wouldn't recommend a low profile savox in a truck, use a standard size savox in mine and have no problems. Motor wise i would recommend a 550 size as 540's get to hot in a 4wd truck, Im running a 4.5 lrp with a sxx tc and only ever struggled at petit race trying to do 10min runs.

I'd also suggest putting in a more powerful servo - these trucks are pretty heavy and if you're running on high grip it's a lot to ask of the low profile servos.
I actually think I preferred the 540 motors. I ran a 6.5 Tekin - it's a lot lighter than the 550 offerings. Gets hot but the Tekin motors can take a bit of heat. I want to try the Tekin 540 sized motor with the large diameter rotor as I think that'll be a nice combo.

I have a savox 1258 and castle mamba max pro, and found the bec on the castle was barely enough to power the savox. The bec on the Castle is adjustable and at 5V, it was fine. 5.5V and higher, the receiver would lose power if I moved the servo back and forth very fast.
I was able to fix the problem by installing a capacitor on the receiver.
Have you tried your 1257tg with the sidewinder yet?
