ANSWER RC / DEERDALE WINTER SERIES 2011/12
Deerdale Off Road is an Astro track for off road 1/8th buggies and truggies in Nottinghamshire, reckoned by some to be the best 1/8th scale astro-turf track in the country. The 2011/2012 Winter series has been sponsored by Answer RC.
The Series started back in October 2011 and concluded in March 2012.
The championship was held over 6 rounds, with the best 4 rounds to count.
Each round consisted of 3x6min qualifying runs, with the best 2 rounds to count. The finals then followed these.
For the first round the attendance numbers were a little low but this did not dilute the quality of the racing. It was obvious from day one that everyone was after the truggy or buggy championship title. Vince Ping was the first to show his hand in the truggy class and John Holmes in the Buggy class.
The attendance numbers began to grow round by round with more faces attending the track, some for the first time. The championship was starting to get some shape. The weather was the only winner on Round 5 as the snow had fallen and the round had to be rescheduled.
By round 6 the weather had done a complete circle and the sun was out for the final round. The situation had not changed much at the top of the buggy and truggy championship but all other places were up for grabs.
By the end of round 6 there had been a total of 65 buggy drivers participating in the championship and 26 truggy drivers. The final placing’s were as follows:

1 John Holmes
2 Graham Alsop
3 Jordan Banks
4 Tony Drabble
