Guys,

Need some advice, I have a Losi 22 and hobbywing 35a esc with 9t hobbywing motor.

The problem is it gets too hot and stops after about 2-3 mins of going around the track. Any recommendations on how to resolve this problem??

I am going to check what gearing is on it and post the info shortly.

Thanks

I don't run a 22 or brushless(souped-up old Mardave Cobra and brushed),
but straight away I'd say drop a tooth or two on the gearing.

Also(going on what the brushless boys say)check any fans are working
correctly, check that any thermal cut-outs are behaving and make sure
you have enough cool air entering the body around the speedo and motor,
especially if you're running in the mid mount config.

BITD when I raced using Ni-Cads,gearing was of paramount importance
to get the best performance and run times out of our old brushed modifieds.
Too high and they'd run too hot, lose performance and absolutely gulp battery power,
too low and they'd wheelspin like hell, you'd lose top speed and get no where.

Is a 35a speedo upto the job? Sounds like it isn't...

That speedo's limit is 11.5t motor. I think that will be your problem.

The 9T motor is a small motor in a big can. In theory it should be OK with the 35A speedo but it doesn't have the power of a true 540 motor. This might make it easy to overgear and over-heat if you are trying to make it as fast as other cars.

Yup your esc isn't up to the job I run the same combo in my touring car and the instructions say it's fine for that but for a buggy the motor limit's 12 turn. You'll need to get a speedo that can handle the demands of a buggy like hobbywings 60a esc or something similar.
