I found it impossible to build the diff on my new b4.
Ive build a t3 and a tc3 so im familiar with asso stuff and they both work perfect.
The problem is you cant screw the bold in enough to compress the sping and tighten the diff .
When you come to the end of the tread the "ears" of the plastic nutholder should be al the way down but it isnt, its far of you can even pull the diff halves apart , the spring isnt compreesd at all.
Im puzzeld ,do you force the bolt in ???What??
Please help

I think you have either put the screw and thrust in the wrong outdrive (think they go in the female side.

Or did you compress the spring with pliers before assembling?

Ive heard of people receiving kits with no thread on the screw. Check it for length against the manual too and start again from scratch, could be something as simple as like Dan said, we've all done it as being familiar with the thing we can don't pay much attention to the instructions (I don't anyway). Ive forgotten the spring once and lost my ears, then the whole thing turns in the outdrive and become a right swine to take apart again.

The diff on the buggy builds different to the t/c (the thrust, spring & nut position are orientated different)

from memory buggy is screw & thrust 1 side, spring & nut other

t/c is generally screw, thrust & spring with only the nut on the other.

i saw quite a few b4's built like this at the first round of worksop as they were used to t/c diffs and hadn't read the instructions.

Hi,
thx for your reactions.
I figured it out you just have to use force to get it in to the plastic nut ,would be a nice addition to the manual ,because there s a lot of resitance ,and when you live in Holland you cant just go out and buy a new diff screw ,so i was a little worried breaking it.

Sound's like you got what I did. The diff nut in my new B4 was not fully tapped sot the bolt would start to thread but then have massive resistance, and proceeds to strip the bolt. So don't force it without removing the bolt and checking for damage.
I faxed associated and they sent me a new nut and bolt which worked perfectly.
