Hello All
I need some help please, i want to paint my new car and i have not painted a car for some 25 years now so i am a little rusty. i want to use metalic orange but i cant find one to buy. i have found a translucent orange from tamiya that i was going to back with a metalic silver. will this work ,and is it ok to mix paints from diferent manufacturers.:bored:

Stick to the same manufactures especially if its tamiya, even some of their own paints will react together if put on too heavily.

And yes by laying down transparent orange first then putting a silver backing you will get a metallic orange.

If they're Tamiya paints make sure they're PS ones ( Poly Spray ) and the TS which are just general aerosol.

Also if you back it with metallic gold instead of silver you'll get a much richer more orange colour. It sometimes goes more of a burnt orange with a brown tinge to it over silver.
