Ok, sorry for all the spackerish questions, but I just ordered a Durga kit, and want some recommendations for radio gear. It wants o be something at the cheaper end, that could be used to race at some stage, but primarily will be in the practice stage.... as I could get a better one later for racing if need be.

Thanks in advance!

The Sanwa Gemini 11 is a good low price transmitter

As is the Futaba 3GR.

I've used many different radio brands in my cars ...... but would only trust Futaba to fly with. IMHO Futaba's quality and most importantly their reliability is second to none.

I second the Futaba 3GR, I use it to race with and it's a great system to use. Cheap enough to not break the bank, but has all the features you'll need. If I was going to get another one though, I'd go for the 2.4Ghz version as you can't upgrade from the 40Mhz synthesised version.

Lots of people upgrading to 2.4gig (no crystals/no clashing) .....so lots of 40mg equipment going secondhand - cheap

We had the Gemini for years (worked for us), always a few on eBay and in the sale section here, make sure you get at least a couple of sets of crystals and the battery may need replacing.

Also there is stick or wheel transmitters !
