Guys,

New to SCT and loving it. Mold club has gone from 1 sct (me) to 5 in a matter of weeks. I have a Gambler from Venom as do some of the other guys that are having there first run next week, two other guys are running SC10s on TF and one Pro. The SC10TF is using a Speed Passion esc and 550brushless motor, I'm using a brushed 12x2 and Dominator Evo speedo which is still quick but motor is hot,( gearing is right). That was till i put the std 550 silver can in it which is a 12t, wow what a difference in every area. Make the car so mush more controlable. Must be torq for low down revs and brakes. Is this the same in Brushless motor sizes?? I'm looking to make it to Oople invertational and a few nationals this year to get me up to speed and maybe a full season next year once i'm up and running.

BUT the big question is, What are people using ESC and Motor wise and Pro's an cons of there system??

Dawg

Ive got a Tenshock SC411 and Xerun esc at the mo and its awesome, ive run a RX8 and SC4X 5.5t in the past and the cheaper setup owns the Tekin all day long, if money aint a problem then a RX8 and Pro4 is the setup to have , but ill be sticking to my Tenshock/Xerun for a long time yet

I also have SC411 motor and looking for a speedo (will be using in losi ten-scte). I have a spare Xerun 120A v2.1 from TC car. Do you think it will handle this motor?

do 2WD sct really need 550 motors tho.? I have just bought a second hand cheap as chips Novak Super Sport with an 8.5t, 87/19 gearing. seems nice and quick, not running hot, controlable in the air ect. What are the top lads in 2wd sct running at nationals??

I don't feel that 2wd SCT needs a 550 motor. Even a 4wd SCT is ok with a 540 motor. Speedos that works best for 1/10 SCT to me at Speed Passion, Hobbywing, Tekin..etc 1/10 speedos. Just found another great speedo, it's exactly like a Hobbywing Xerun 120a and Speed Passion GT 2.0 pro but the components inside are really good. Uses Toshiba FETs. It's really cheap as chips as well. Comes with the 80a and 120a models, i'd go with the 120a model. Try it, you guys won't be disappointed...

These speedos have pop up on Ebay as well, but i rather get from the store linked above, at least when the speedo is faulty, you can inform and get back to the shop and the owner Stan is a great guy to deal with.

Depends on the size of your track. For a big track i like 7.5T-8.5T, for smaller and more technical track, 10.5T would be ok. Personally i like 8.5T motors very much for 2wd vehicles, be it 2wd buggy or 2wd SCT...
