I'd go new every time, if that's what it's down to, as you just know what your getting. I don't think at club level there is a great deal of difference between the two cars in the competitiveness stakes!!

If you want to use stick packs the 22 will have to be rear motor, is possible to use sticks with mid,BUT hell it's a squeeze! I've never seen it done but a couple of people have told me they have done it.
The madmonkey is ok,but you do get what you pay for,if you want to run it errrm hard:D,you would need to do some work and spend a fair bit,

So TBH for a great day at club the 22 is best for the money, as thomas shows every week they are very very tough!!!
If you realy want mid, how about an X6, as that what the monkey is a copy of, you have AE parts and you can use stick packs:)

If you prefer a new, stick pack, mid car maybe a Durango DEX210 ?

Out of the 2 cars your asking about, the losi 22 wins every day. Spares back up is great full stop and the car is tough.

You can fit stick Lipos in a 22 easily, just need a low profile savox servo

I would defiantly go for the 22, I did and dont regret it one bit!

I like my 22, only option parts I bought were some springs and caster blocks. Car seems competitive in both layouts and has proved strong and reliable.
I think you ideally need a short servo and saddles or stumpy lipo to fit everything in mid motor format, but I don't think there is much to chose between the two layouts.

Both the ansmann and the losi are supported at the club so getting tips and spares is easy enough too.

My honest opinion is that I would always buy new over 2nd hand as already said. So just depends on how much money you want to spend.

Aaah there is always one that has to spot something else, I also have the HRC camber block and anti squat shims and 5 degree front hubs. I'm just not sure they are needed straight away, more of a nice to have tuning option rather than essential!!
