I've just installed a new Novak GTB and 6.5 sintered in my B4. It goes like a rocket but I am having serious problems with the brakes. The brakes seem to have no modulation - just on or off. So when I apply brakes, even a tiny bit the rear end just swings around.

I use a KO Esprit III, Spektrum module, have tried everything I can think of: the KO Thottle:Brake from 0-100 in all settings (improves it a tiny bit but not much, brake expo down to 50%, set the GTB minimum brake to the 1st setting, etc.

I've also softened the suspension a bit, added lead weight behind the rear bulkhead.

Any ideas?

What setting have you got the drag brake on? At bury on sunday i also had this problem in my 4wd so we reset the whole speedo and started again setting up. And that did the trick.

Oh also. When you set the speedo up. Just put the brakes on the transmitter to 150 when you first set it up and then turn them down once its set-up.

Assuming you don't have anything crazy setup on the tranny like Ben did on Sunday do a complete reset and don't change anything other than turn the drag brake down from 4 flashes to 2 flashes. This is the orange and bluelight together and is the 2nd light option when customising.

It sounds like you have changed the initial brake setting so there is nothing and then all of a sudden it handbrakes.

Before you do the reset turn the brake EPO to 150, expo to 0 etc, so std tranny settings.

OK, I'll try that this morning and see how it goes, thanks for the advice guys.

Yeah I had the same problem. Once I turned down the drag brake on the speedo, it was ace. I found it was easiest to set it to one flash to start with (no drag brake and see how it goes). If you like a bit more it is very quick and easy to up to 2 flashes.

The problem I had with my tranny was that I had to adjust the brake end point when I was doing the one touch setup, as it wouldn't recognise full brakes otherwise.

You boys are ace, that has fixed the problem.

Reset Model memory on TX
Throttle:Brake EPO to 150%
Switch of Drag Brake on GTB
Switch Initial Brake to minimum on GTB
Reduce Throttle:Brake EPO to 100%

Happy days
