Just bought a second hand Durango buggy and havent bought a motor for it yet. Was hoping to enter 2wd at my local club (Coventry) but not sure what motor to buy and what kind of gearing to use.

Any advice would be great, dos and donts.

Thanks

I'm running an Orca 6.5 geared 89/22 (10.51) or 89/23 (10.06) depending on the size of track (long straights, short straights, tight track wide track etc etc)

The other thing to do is have a look at the set up sheets on here and go from there

Coventry Astro is usually a fast flowing track :)

I'm running a Speed Passion V3 7.5 @ 83/26 in my 210 and it still feels slow down the straight (I do need to play with speedo setup). In the wet however the car is really nice to drive

I have a 7.5t LRP x20 motor on stock spur with 22/23 pinion and it's super fast on carpet and was fast enough at broxtowe outside on astro.

With a Speed Passion V3 range I run a 6.5 on 87/26 or 83/23 but to get the motor further back I run 76/22. For a 7.5 I run 76/23 again to get the motor as far towards the rear wheels as possible. As they say every little helps! The spurs are all RW Racing from either the Durango range that they do or for the smaller sizes I use the spurs that they make for the Schumacher Cougar as they are a direct fit on the Durango.
