Hi,
Looking for a bit of advise on what 2wd 1/10 buggy , motor, speedo, cells etc to get.
I have been out of RC racing for some 10years and my last car's were a Schumacher Procat & Kyosho Laser ZXR to name a few.
Like the idea of the Schumacher Cougar SV2 ? any thoughts of alternative and what you recommend to run in it as well.
Thanks

I have little experience on the sv2. As a competition car it's probably up there!
B4 is a great comp car with spares galore. Has stood test of time.
But me personally I like the losi 22 - looks great, runs great, mid and rear motor configs and spares are easily sourced. I'd run an 8.5t, small footprint esc like lrp or orca and a stubby lipo. You can find a cheap 22 on this forum.
Other good choices include the kyosho rb5 and durango dex210

cougar sv2 is good just finished on the podium at nationals...... not a losi or b4 in sight! b4 is good but most now run it with the C4.1 conversion. best advice is pop to your local club and see whats popular, you can buy losi cheap on here for one reason.....:eh?:

I returned this time last year after a long layoff, my advice would be run what is popular at the club you are going to race at for advice and spares availability.
I started back with a cougar sv and have now got an SV2 which im now starting to find a set up for.
Cheers

Another vote for the Ansmann X2c from me.They are getting very popular at lots of clubs and spares are easy to get hold of.

Personally I wouldn't go for the 22. There's a reason they are selling very cheap on here and a reason that they are no longer selling as new. That being they are designed for US clay tracks, not high grip uk tracks.
Don't get me wrong, they suit some people, but look at Darren bloomfields. To make it work for him he has Ali option parts that cost more than the car.
I don't know about the b4 but I now run the Durango.
Straight out the box it worked. Kit springs are spot on and i now have setups sorted for all surfaces without having purchased and weights.
Battery wise, unless you are planning on doing brca events then just get nano tech ones from hobby king. I run them and at 20 quid they are better than a 70 quid set

the durango dex210 and the sv2 or the c4.1 look like the best from the results really.
but honestly it depends on your driving style.theres nothing wrong with a b4,it's just that the rear motor not ideal for some tracks.but there are people still racing the b4 and getting good results.
i would say the losi 22 is a bad choice.if your trying to lower costs then its the ansmann x2c,they seem to be doing pretty well,i've driven one and they are pretty good in and out of corners etc.
