Hi.
Me and my mate have come up with an idea. Let me know what you think? Most of my ideas are crap but we will see. Could we do a 6 or 12 hour indoor endurance race with teams of 4 or so? I think it would be fun plus I need some serious practice! Maybe we could leave it free to use 2 or 4wd so that you could run both cars if you own both which may help with keeping them in one piece. To make it even more complicated you could run a handicap system to level things out so that there would be a winner by handicap as well as outright winner. If everyone qualified with an individual lap time then a handicap could be worked out per person and then worked out as a team. It sounds complicated but when I used to race full size cars they held an event which proved to be one of the most popular events of the year that worked exactly as I've described.
Anyway, just a thought. Let me know what you think. I have mentioned it to Matt already.
Cheers
Tommy

I do like the sound of this. The handicap idea is interesting as well, which means any team can have a fair crack at winning.
I remember reading about one endurance race where the same car was used for the whole event like in Le Mans, not sure if I'd be happy for my car to be used for a 6/12hr slot so I like the idea of using multiple cars, perhaps with a minimum run time for each car/driver.
Matt I guess its over to you to decide. Happy to help if you need any.

Wouldn't have to be indoors, but with the good old unpredictable UK weather, I wouldn't fancy doing a 6hr+ endurance race in the pissing rain.

I think these teams were given the car by the manufacturers so didn't matter about it being completely dead! I do think that a major factor in an endurance race is to only use one car though. Surely this makes you/team drive within the limits of the car as the more time its on the bench the less laps it's doing.
If people just want track time to practice Matt then just open your track, charge a fee and go to the pub whilst people just drive round, otherwise make it interesting! I'll put my car up for my team :D

Exactly how i see it, part of the skill of doing an electric endurance race is the balance of outright pace Vs battery change/repair pit stops.
