Just asking for opinions/experiences of these two,

Or,

For 10th electric (one car) only, currently use an Ansmann W5 which is fine though batteries sometimes have a bad connection & though faultless otherwise feels a bit 'cheap' (because is it i guess, lol)
Opinions appreciated

if you want the ansmann look for the flysky gt3b its the same and much cheaper. With a software update the gt3b or W6 is great. You can find more info in the w6 thread.

W6 is fine, loads of people turn their nose up because of the Ansmann badge but it's a perfectly capable transmitter and has some functions you would expect to pay two or three times more for if you wanted them on a 'named' brand.

BTW the battery connection is the same in the GT3B or W6. Ehen you shake the transmitter it might switch on and off. This problem is only with some batteries. The GP ReCycle are bigger and dont have this problem.
I would take the W6 because there are many tricks to install a ball bearing and new firmware and other stuff. But in this case I would take what you instantly like more

the W6 AA battery holder has a futaba style plug on it, shake as much as you want it aint coming apart, also it means that upgrading to a lipo is just plug and play:thumbsup:
iv been using a W6 for about a year now and have used it in TC, 8th nitro, mardaves and 10th buggies, not missed a beat

Hi, I've had both handsets and I would choose the spektrum every time!!

The ansmann/flysky receivers are dirt cheap which is great. I got a GT3B rx shipped from china for 6 quid! About 10-11 quid here.

I had the same dilemma, I chose the spectrum and I'm so glad I did, it's very comfortable and well made , easy to set up, and allowed me to use a micro receiver which has helped save space.

Just looking at the dimensions of both the Spektrum SR300 DSM & the Ansmann R5 receivers supplied with both trannys, the extra 6mm length, 5mm width of the SR300 would mean it won't fit (the way i'd like) into my X2C, not with my SP LPF esc anyway

Is the software update purely for the Flysky or also the Ansmann ?
What does it do, specifically ?

also ansmann.
depands on the firmware you want to use. Faster latency, expo is working, better trim, subtrim and some other useful functions.

A good added function is the inactivity alarm rather than just a low voltage alarm.
