Upgrading to Ansmann Racing Alloy 12mm Hex Drives ??

Does anyone use them ? (Part No. 125000316)

And do they completely eliminate the binding issue, & run true etc ?

I'd just like to know if they're worth it before i buy :)

i run them on mine and there is no binding at all ran it all last year no problems.

The binding issue is not related to the hexes, its actually fixed by placing shims between the drive pin and the hub bearing.
The clamping hexs will stop the hex being clamped onto the bearing but you still have slop between the hub bearing and the pin and this will make the bearing fail.
Shims are cheap and they solve the problem, ask Jim76 on here, he had the binding problem last sunday and i didnt.

Big Edit, just to be clear the shims should be on the stub axle between the bearing and the back of the hex

Not on mine it isnt. Its the hexes binding on the hubs when done up tight as the drive pin is pushed into the plastic hex. So i fitted alloy clamp hexes, problem solved and i can do up the wheel nuts tight now with no binding.

Found a new way on the alloy hexes by sheer fluke of luck. I now have alloy hexes with grub screws in from Axial SXC10 Honcho or Dingo truck.
They the same thickness as standard plastic ones and the added grub screw holds them on perfect. No loosing drive pins anymore. I found this as was rooting throo my hex collection and found them and they fitted perfect:woot:
