Hi mate, it's not the RTR anymore now, it's SP spec now because of all the upgrades.

There are 4 versions of the ZX-5 I believe, a standard ZX-5 kit, which I don't think you can get anymore. The ZX-5 RTR which is pre-built and comes with controller/motor etc, then there's the ZX-5 SP, this is more or less a race spec version of the ZX-5 with some changes to improve geometry and a new shell. Finally, there's the ZX-5 FS, very similar to the SP apart from the motor is mounted in the centre of the chassis rather than towards the rear.

At the minute I'm running a 6.5 brushless Novak Motor, with an Orion Vortex ESC. I'm using NiHM batteries because it's all I had the budget for at the time, but to be honest they're fine until I improve.

Bare in mind that to get my car from the standard ZX-5 RTR (£170) to SP spec cost around an extra £200, so the car itself cost in the region of £370. Then add the motor, esc, batteries, charger, new tyres onto that...it wasn't cheap.
