MRT as have 3 so cheaper!

knighthawk 30-11-2012 08:14 PM

3 x MyLaps Harry's
5 x AMBrc PT's

Not been greedy, These are for my two sons and myself, lol

I agree with Mikey, this is a great poll, clubs need to know how an upgrade is going to affect turnout at their meetings.

On another thought, is there any BRCA requirements about which decoder is to be used in a National or Regional Events ?

there is no requirment for brca to use amb ( if another was to become available ;) ) or to which race programe is used

MattW 30-11-2012 09:46 PM

Well, the electric touring car rules to state AMB/Mylaps. The Off road section just references drivers must use personal transponders.

Mark, sorry chap, I don't mean about the type of program, I mean are BRCA going to say clubs need to be RC4 compatible to apply !!

does not mean the percentages need to be looked at, just on numbers using each version a third roughly use mrt

Mark is correct - I have both original AMB and a MRT, so have voted for both.

thats what i put ;) brca dont stipulate in general rules that amb (now mylaps) must be used AMB make the timing equipment, bbk/rctiming do the race software.

Matt has pointed out that elec tc do state amb/mylaps, but not which software version

of road as matt has clarified dont stipulate either, so to me, they should all run (sections) what is currently proven to work! so as to qoute the brca motto "promote the sport of model car racing"

:woot: folk will talk again,:lol:

I have always used mrt's and had 2 programmed on the same number never had a clash.

With every thing going off I must admit I jumped ship and now own 3 mylaps Harry's which seem future proof as they send rc2 and rc4 signals.

Crazy L 30-11-2012 11:09 PM

I understand Mikeys intent fully, it's for the greater good "the greater good"

I'll do what I can to keep racing.

RudeTony 01-12-2012 07:59 AM

OMG
Its just a vote to get an idea of numbers.
Mike is right doing this pole - just vote - no life stories - that's on another thread.....

WiseOwl99 01-12-2012 09:26 AM

For 1/10th Offroad Nationals, the section provide the Timing Equipment - currently BBK Software and an AMB RC3 Decoder.
For Regionals, the Host Club generally provide the Timing Equipment (either their own or borrowed from another club).

Stuart.

Cheers Stuart for the reply !
Then the question next is, are BRCA going to upgrade to RC4 ??

mikeyscott 01-12-2012 10:25 AM

I expect they are looking at it and think should be left to do their investigation etc.

So back to the point please, this is a poll for now and can be discussed on the other thread.

So does this, 63. Racers were using mrt, all off which would not be able to compete

Mylaps answered this for you !

Quote:

This demonstrates that all AMB/Mylaps transponders work reliably with the RC4 Decoders but MRT transponders do not, in fact only 1 in 5 PTX transponders recorded any laps at all. We have offered a trade in for MRT transponders in exchange for Harry transponders since April 2010 and continue to do so.2nd December 2012

Nope that tells me
We have developed a new system that no one model car racing club or organization needs (as our bumph says its to improve accuracy for f1 etc) as what they have now works, oh and while we screw the clubs over, those racers who run another brand will have to return to our monopoly so win win for us, loose loose for racers and clubs.
