Hi are you using just the standard Durango pads ?

I was looking at the tm4 upgrade but its costly about £86

Just standard Durango pads, but I've also used Schumacher pads without problems. The A.E high torque pads just don't seem to have enough bite to use in our slipper.
The standard slipper works fine when you've got the right combination of parts in it.

Oh and it's also worth checking that the pads are protruding past the spur gear other wise the slipper plates sit against the spur rather than the pads.

im using the rw spur gear an 83 with the associated high torque pads but as said above I still have to tighten it up full lock to grip

my mate has the same slipper set up but his only needs get half way and its perfect :confused:

Sounds like the slipper plates are touching the spur, if the pads don't sit proud of the spur the edge of the plates sits on it instead, I know people have turned the plates down on a lathe so they can fit inside the pad recess and can't touch to avoid this. You mate may have slightly thicker pads or a spur with a shallower recess which is why he isn't having this problem.

Our experience is: -

AE - terrible
Durango - good
Schumacher - good
Team C - very good
RcShox - excellent but kill slipper plates

For the last 6 months we have used Team C Pads with the RW Spur with no problems. It's important to clean the slipper assembly now and again to keep the slipper plates moving freely.

Well last night rw set up again burnt out spur gear after 5 laps in, fitted standard team c spur and standard pads

Got 14 laps then a first in final so did 28 laps and still working

When you say you use a rw spur with tram c pads do the do that shape of pad

If you want to use team c pads with the RW spur there's two options, RW sell a spur which takes the standard pads or you can get the TM4 pads which are the standard octagon shape.

RW Spurs don't normally fail. Are the 2 large bearings either side of the slipper assembly OK?

hi yes bearings all good/ ran at bury today 5 rounds plus a final with no problems on the standard spur and pads :confused:

We tried all makes and ended up back with the Team C pads which are very consistent. Just make sure the plates move freely with the pins in place. The black Team C spurs are OK. The RW spurs are normally very tough.
