I'm aware the site will be open from Friday evening for people to arrive but will it be closed during the night into the morning? I'm driving up early Saturday morning so would like to know what time I will be able to access the site?

Thanks

Chris

Once people are on site, it stays open from my experience. Arn't you f2 by the way?

Chris Elworthy 11-09-2013 05:40 PM

Cheers Danny, I gained my F2 grade for 2014 through the North West regionals but this season I was F5 as I've retuned to racing after a 6 year absence so am eligible to race as its based on your Formula at the start of 2013.

I'd imagine as in previous years that a former F1 or very quick F2 will be booked in and give us all a kickin! I know multiple BRCA touring car champion Chris Grainger has been racing off road this year and as it is his first off road season he was an F5 grade to begin with....we're all in trouble if he turns up!!

Its a contentious rule that has been argued before but even a former F1 will drop to F3 grade if he doesn't compete in regionals for 5 years or more, Ed Kerry for example won both the F2s and F345s last year as he had been away from 10th off road racing 8th scale. Jamie Booth also returned for a one off 10th meeting at the 345s in 2010 and won.

I wonder who this year's wildcard entry will be??

Yeah I just figured it out. They need to reword it on the site a bit. Says its based on the summer months regionals.

Bah, though I might be able to have a good crack at this too :D

Chris Elworthy 11-09-2013 05:56 PM

Well I hope I'm right?? I think I am as when you get the grade you are that grade for the entire year eg 2013, hopefully somebody can confirm for sure?

I'd imagine it is correct tho as entries for this went in before many regional seasons were finished so people wouldn't know what F grade they will be.
You should have a good crack at it, I saw you running the 4wd at Batley on Sunday and you looked very quick to me. I've not a clue how I will get on as I've never raced there before so do not no what to expect at all.

Chris

Was gonna ask something similar.

Is their a timetable anywhere for the day? I am about to leave to come down and don't even known the script for tomorrow morning, booking in? Timed practice? How long? What time? etc.

James 13-09-2013 12:02 PM

Timing and running the meeting is done by the BRCA, not us I'm afraid, we just provide the venue and scrutineering.

From experience I imagine booking in 7am, practice heat 1 at 8am for 2 rounds, 3 mins then 4 mins? and racing starting around 10ish.

Nicely run meeting today, thanks YORCC, volunteers, BRCA and James. Great day overall, and we got lucky with the weather!

Chris Larner 15-09-2013 06:39 PM

Ill second the above.
Great run meeting and a top quality track, it was my first time at Robin Hood Raceway and I loved the track and thought the layout was flowing and fast with plenty to think about.
Look forward to coming back.
