XXXCR
I have been trying a few differant things on my xxxcr, one is flipping the rear pivot block. Has anyone else tried this? How did they find it?
I am still looking for a nice generic set up, something I will try at Kidderminster on Sunday? |

I wouldn't have thought so though. |
Hi Brian
Well gave the set up a go yestesrday at Kidderminster. Ended up with short wheelbase, also taking out the washers under the turnbuckle at the rear. Went down 10wt oil rear, and 5wt in the front, changed the front spring to a green and put a small limiter in there. You? |
Right here go's.
this was how I finished yesterday Front Toe - 0 Ride Height – Chassis Level With Rear Camber - -1 Caster - Std Sway Bar - None Oil - 40 Piston - black Spring - Blue Limiters - None Spindle Location - Low Steering Ackerman – Rack Bump Steer - 0 Camber Link - 2B (1 gold washer) Shock Location - 3 Inside VLA – Short Front Wing - No Notes - 10g infront of servo and 5g either side at the back of servo Rear Toe-In - 3 inboard flipped upside down Pivot Support - Std Rear Hub Spacing – Middle Driveshafts/Outdrives – Steel CVD's/Steel Outdrives Ride Height - Driveshafts just below Level Sway Bar - None Oil - 40 Piston - Blue Spring - Red Limiters - Inside 0 - Outside 0 Camber Link – 6C 2 gold washers under the ball stud Shock Location - 2 Middle VLA - Long Wing - XXXcr half gurney (without extra element) Wing Position - Low Battery Position - Forward Notes - 15g at the back of chassis 20g behind the battery foam Tyres Front - Schu Green mini's firm insert Rear - Ballistic Green Mini spikes Soft insert Motor Peak Spashett 12x3 27/78 Batteries Peak GP3700 H-MPV David Specials The car felt really good and had good drive out of the corners. it handled the camber change really well at speed coming onto the tabletop. It got a little loose on the back on the 3rd run, but that was down to it starting to go damp in the air and the rear tyres were just about knackered. If you are going to Coventry on 28-01-07 come over and say hello, otherwise I will be at the next round at Kidderminster. |

Hi Tom
Do you have a fairly generic set up fot the XXXCR? Outdoors that is? P |
I haven't run the CR outdoors yet. I've only run it through the winter indoors. Altho when I do eventually go outdoors I will start with a set-up similar to this. I have developed this set-up over winter and find myself just do minor changes now, so I think it is pretty much there.
|
Tom
Surely you would change the front, a little? Black spring?? Do you run any weight in the back? P |
The only weight I run is 15g in the front bulkhead. As I said I have never run the car outdoors, but when I do I will start off with what I finish with indoors, and I can't see that being much different to this.
Going outdoors will be a learning curve for me with this car so it may change, I just don't know yet. |
the set up we run in doors is almost identical to what we run out doors its the tyres change
|
Have a look at the Helger Racing web-site, they are gathering a collection of XXX-CR set-ups (both indoor and outdoor). Mine from todays Coventry Winter meeting should be on there shortly.
try either www.helgerracing.com or direct ot the XXX-CR set-ups http://www.helgerracing.com/eknowled...etupspage.html |

Couple fo questions regarding this set up;
1. Any weight in the back? 2. Shimmed, I guess the rear block is flipped with a washer in the front? to increase rear anti squat? 3. Rear camber link position, how many washers is the maximum you can put under the ball stud? |
What does cutting the springs down do?
|

Basically keep adding washers until you are nearly touching the inside of the wheel Quote:

On the losi xxxcr setup sheets, the rear hubs have abcedabc but nobody ever states if it is the front abc or the rear abc they use, or is the rear abc not used, thanks
Lee |
Most use the forward holes, but the hubs are universal so can be used either side.

I'd really recommend the following, I've been running it for a while now and it seems to like most tracks I've run at.
I admit it does take a little extra work to get the drilled pistons, the change of front kick-up and the cut rear springs but I do think it's well worht a try. I'd be interested in the opinions of anyone that tries the set-up Front Toe – 0 Ride Height – Wishbones Level Camber – 1 deg neg.
