replacing motor bearings, do brca allow?
hi, looking for some clarification,
I'm looking at purchasing a new motor for the upcoming indoor winter series, the motor I want Is on the brca list, the company also sells uprated bearings to fit the motors, I just wanted to know if this would then deem the motor illegal? ive looked on the brca website and I think its allowed, just wondered if anyone has crossed this bridge before? thanks in advance. |

i just had a reply from the b.r.c.a directly, and apparently, yes you can change the bearings, as a direct replacement or upgrade. as long as they are the same size as the originals.
jus in case anyone else wanted to know! |
Yes you can, be it for the upgraded ceramic or another make. Rcbearings do good motor bearings too.
Some manufactures of motors sell alloy timing rings, alloy screws, which give less effect to the magnetic field and are not listed on the motor list. These currently are also legal to fit. Tcboy has It wrong I'm afraid |
thanks for your input mark, I was looking at some alloy accessories too, might be able to re think this now!
many thanks |

As for it may have changed, its actiually a continuation from brushed motor classes As for like for like, if the manufacture puts in grade 3 bearings and you fit grade 5, in your world thats a fail, in the real world, how would an official be able to prove it? |
