newbie which tc to get???

Hi everyone im wanting to get into tc and im after some advice on what car to start with and what 17.5 brushless motor, etc, servo and batteries people are using.ive had rc cars in the past but not really raced them so don't know that much.ive been looking at these cars:

Schumacher mi1v2

Schumacher mi5/mi5 evo

Xray t4 2014/2015 spec

I know the mi1v2 is for the beginner tc driver so I want to know is it worth starting with this or is it best to start off with a top spec car???I want to buy new aswell so I can build it my self so I know my own car and how it works.

Hobao H4e but I am biased!. £199 now in Modelsport but still top spec. Spares are cheap also.

On the esc front, these are unbeleivable value:

Im running 2 of them and really can't fault them

The schumacher mission 1 v2 is another good choice. Competitive and tough as old boots

Thanks for that.I've been trying to find reviews and stuff on different touring cars but their isn't that much out their.so that's why I came on here to find out what other people are using.

I returned to TCs last year after a loooong break from all RC racing, and quite frankly love my T4 '14. I've recently tried a Durango DETC410 too, which has actually been pretty good, but can't bring myself to part with the Xray so have put the DETC up for sale on here.....

As for the rest of the gear I use, I've long been an LRP fan so use their lipos, an X20 13.5 and a Flow Works Team ESC. I use a Savox 1251 servo too.

Look at the rcracer.com for reviews, admittedly not all the cars on your list but some good build tips and information about different chassis.
You need to look at your budget really, do you have anything to start with? Radio, servo, Lipo's, charger?
Then pop to your local club night or whatever they do, there will always be someone that will happily stand and chat RC, from them you will get an idea what others run, not essential to get the same but it can help.
You can strip a TC into kit form very quickly then rebuild with maybe a new set of bearings and shock seals so don't discount used.
I came back after 20 years and bought a new Mi1 had it for a season but thought it was awkward to work on without all the ally bits so sold it and got a used Xray T2009 which was immaculate and did me well for another season then bought a used T3 12 and have stuck with Xray so will be getting the T4 15
I have always used Hobbywing ESC's not the latest (v2.1 and Xtreme stock) £50 or so from UK shops, Nano Tech lipo's from HK or Gens Ace from Giant shark, (do have intellects for bigger events but they are getting a bit old now) Have been running a G force motor for a season in 17.5 and very happy with its performance for £50, Savox 1251 servo or for half the price the alturn servo's are good

If you have the budget, go for the top cars.

Of your two other options, the Schumacher is built for UK tracks so can be very quick, but some people find them edgy to drive and they are not as robust or easy to work on as some other cars on the market.

The XRAY is well built and safer to drive. Has a lot of fans, especially among people that are new-ish to racing.

You could drive yourself mad investigating all the available cars. The two you mentioned are popular in the UK with good parts support. Can't go far wrong with either.

For the electrics, bear in mind that there are lists of approved escs, motors and lipos for certain BRCA events. Not all clubs will expect you to use approved electrics but it is something to bear in mind.
