My Original YZ870c Super Dogfighter - Racer

6 Attachment(s)
This is my original Super Dogfighter I bought new in 1987 and built and raced when I was 15 onwards. My favorite RC of All time and one I've owned since new and for 32 years and counting!

Not sure to either keep it as it is (as a time capsule from when I first built it and raced it) or sympathetically restore it into a runner?

Cheers Bud!!

Hmm Long story but looks like no, more to it than that (it's complicated)!

That's just the Yokomo collection, I've got another 60 RC cars etc :woot:

That's a tough call about weather or how to restore your old racer , I guess you could tear it down and look at what it needs and try and decide how much DNA it would be loosing , if I had a vote it would remain a time capsule and maybe make a replica of it to run .

Cheers Bud, yeah tough one as I would love to see it running again and race it but as you said once you start making it a runner or use it for vintage racing it will lose all of its charm of literally being as it was when I stopped racing with it 29 - 30 years ago.

I guess it's like barn find/ totally original classic cars vs full on restoration, there only ever original once!!

Love your suggestion on creating a replica and go racing with that one which something I should really do and could use one of the other 870c's needing restoration to perform that task.
