It is with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye as I write this because on Sunday night the RC world lost another true gentleman, Dan lost his short and private battle with cancer.
He was more than just another member here he was an inspiration to many me especially, he was always at the other end of a message if I needed help or advice (which he gave me so much) and he was always happy and selfless.

I remember my first message with him I was trying to buy some Petes Awesome Products alloy parts he had for sale. He was so helpful and wanted to know what I was putting them on asking for photos to see what I had, I can't believe that was 5 years ago now.

I truely am lost for word about his passing, I'm so upset for the family he has left behind, we've lost a true fanatic but they have lost so much more and my heart goes out to them.

His legacy will go on for me anyway as the driving force for so long to get the Cat re released which he managed after so long pestering Robin Schumacher and showing him that the demand was so big for it.

I am honoured to of known him for the short years I did and to call him a friend I for one will miss you and our long conversations and jokes.

God speed my friend and see you again at the big race track in the sky as we will race together again some day.

Shocked to hear this. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Dan was a true enthusiast and a genuine person. He did so much for the Scottish RC scene over many years. RIP Dan.

What sad news! I am sorry to say I have been a but of a 'lurker' on oople for some time with not many posts but the few occasions I have posted Dan was a true gent and his kind words made me feel very welcome. He is one of the inspirations for the far too many projects I have on the go that never seem to get posted on here. The vintage rc car scene will miss him greatly!

Took this pic when me & Dan drove up together for the first revival, was our first time meeting in person & he went on to become one of my very best friends, i will miss you greatly buddy & one day again we will race in rc heaven, until then rest easy :cry::cry::cry:

very sad news, though I never met dan in person, ive had many dealings with him, a true gent and an ambassador for the sport. will be greatly missed. r.i.p

Lets hope there is rc racing up there for him. Its a shame.

Its just too soon and unexpected, I thought he would be able to pull through.

Already over 2 years, time does really fly. Still miss him...

It’s still hard to read now, seems only yesterday I was talking to him laughing and joking not a day passes without me thinking of him especially when I look at a car as they all remind me of him.

Let's make good use of the time we have, to stay in contact.
