Perhaps just drop the rideheight a bit thats what ive done..

1 lipo is roughly 150 - 200g lighter than a 6cell sub c pack so obviously the car would run higher...

Mainly data from Schumacher but sorted differently, with more details and on one single page.

Shock Length

I have noticed the overall shock length is noted on the setup sheets! How is the length adjusted? Spacers or via the shock cups?

Thanks again....

By the ball joint on the bottom of the shock gary:) But on the question of shocks, How are the shocks to be filled when cutting out the middle part of the diaphram, do you fill as per manual or do you add somemore oil in the shock cap like in the AE shocks ?
One last question do you set the shock up with any rebound ?

James 21-09-2008 07:04 PM

Just fill as normal.. dont set any rebound either :)

Mossy 21-09-2008 07:20 PM

James is right. Fill as normal and bleed as normal. I normally have around 3mm rebound on each shock.

Just a thought , has there been any issues with steering servos not being protected by a servo saver?

garystyger 22-09-2008 05:12 AM

Servo Saver??

This is a good point, which was over-looked. Any info on the servo would be appreciated.

Southwell 22-09-2008 06:43 AM

XX4 and Pred never had them, if your servo is metal geared and decent you won't need one. I prefere not to have one personally as it can make the steering feel detatched.

Servo savers

Thanks again for the reply! Do the team drivers have any comments i.e. any blown servos or are they using servo savers. I am a little worried as I am used to using Servo Savers....

Mossy 22-09-2008 10:41 PM

Never ran a servo saver and never had any issues in all the testing i've done. Dont worry.

Servo-Saver

Thanks again Si!!

One other question... I race on hard, dirt tracks, with loose to medium traction. Should I use your dirt set-up and not build the car with the kit set-up.

Thanks again for all the great help.

Diaphragm - Centre cut out and removed

what is this part and where do you cut

:(

Mossy 23-09-2008 08:16 PM

The diaphragm is the rubber seal you put inside the shock. Its placed inside the shock top. I cut the centre out, up to the edge of the rim and remove it. You need to then put the outer rim back inside the shock top otherwise you will leak oil from the bleed hole in the shock top.
