Usually it is a little bit of "try a few options and see what fits".
Obviously the motor and servo have to go in certain location and batteries don't have many options so place them where they have to go and then see what space is left. Your ESC will take the next largest space so place that and then whatever is left can be for switch, capacitors, PT etc.
Once you are happy you can then fix them in place.

Some folks will go to the extent of putting car on corner scales to ensure weight distribution, but generally as long as you don't have everything on one side, this isn't an issue.

Finally, if you still aren't sure, try googling "cat k1 aero wiring" and select images - that will show you lots of examples of how others have done it

ive put the servos in etc and connected them up so there now in place so i shall try to do some set outs for the recievers compassotors,esc harrys etc and see what best fits and will look online to what others have done to find what suits best.

then its just the soldering to do (the part im dredding but needs to be done)

Never done micros but I see no reason why not?

Micros are easier as there is so little room everything can only go in one place.

if you buy the 1300MaH short batteries for a micro (mini8, EMB or GTB) you can get everything on the chassis and don't have to worry about the top deck

Im running the gtb belt drives
with the short batteries
i agree these are a lot easier to put the electrics into as ive done two of them now just need to rebuild the third one and then re do the electrics in it much simpler thank goodness.
