Quick 370 motor?
 

What is a quick 370 sized motor? I've had a look around and it's hard to even tell if 'micro modified' motors are even the correct size.

I have a Tamiya black motor which I've not tried yet, but I imagine it won't be the quickest thing ever - I want something with a bit of performance. I heard about some graupner speed300 motor being good, but again I've no idea.

I'll probably have to get a new ESC - what's a good but cheap ESC for these little badboys?

Try a FTX Pro Motor, its 32,000rpm and meant to be the uprated one for a Blaze
Makes my blaze shift down a big straight!

The Graupner is 300 is OK but i wouldnt put it in a car thats meant for a 370 really

The FTX motors are 380 sized and certainly wouldnt fit your Tamiya without alot of work.

As a rule of thumb, 300 and 370 sized motors are the same dimensionally, and 380 and 400 motors are the same.

For your Tamiya I would recommend highly the 6V Speed 300 Graupner motor.

You can still find them in stock at Midland Helicopters (Google it) for about £7inc.

Although they are not rebuildable they do give out alot of power and were the motor of choice before the 380 shod Blaze took all the spoils.

If you want a motor with abit of tunability then you have the option of the 17T or 19T Reedy mod from CML or the equivelent from Team Scream.

ahh right, thanks guys. I didn't realise the blaze used an even bigger motor than the Tamiya. The Tamiya is a big lump to shift about - though I have all the titanium screws and stuff now to see if I can make it a good racer :)

The Sportswerks Recoil car's standard 370 motor revs to 43000rpm and you also get an upgraded motor, the XLR 8 which is a BEAST.

i think this might possibly be the best brushed motor out there, it's 14 turns, so it has alot more power than the previously "low" 17 turn reedy's.

Yeah its fast..but with uber power comes a price. Id rather pay £7 for a disposable Graupner, than £20+ for the Trinity that is basically unskimmable and very sensitive to gearing.

Jimmy, obviously ill say to get the Tekin B1. If you read the specs you'll see its the most adjustable micro esc on the market at the moment. No doubt Tekin would look after you if you wanted to get one direct.

If you were going to run the Tamiya then id probably suggest brushless. Power on tap, and no brushes to worry about!

Yeah, I ran the other Tamiya with the Tekin brushless I borrowed - it was a bit rapid. I just fancied trying it with 'conventional' stuff, mega speed isn't important :)

The lovely thing with the Graupner is that if you screw the gearing up it isnt that much of an issue as it wont eat brushes :)

I have a couple of packs of cells to wire up, any idea who makes little battery bars for these things? I have some connectors, but I worry that these mini connectors might not handle the power of a half-decent motor. What mini connectors do people generally use on the micro cars?

Much-More do micro battery bars chap, and Cain from rcmodelimports should have battery bars in stock also.

Mainly we use Deans connectors, but if I could use Corallys I certainly would.

are those micro deans or the full size ones?

at the micro challenge 3 I used box stock connectors.

Personally I use the full size 4mm ones but you could use the 3.5mm shorties as well and I have even seen people use the 2mm ones.

Got my mitts on a nice 1/16th 'special' car based on the mini inferno, what type of brushed motor am i looking to get to compete at the national rounds for it? Will the graupner 300 be ok.. or am i after something else?

Any help is appreciated.
