diff oil
Seems most setups run heavier oils in the front diff and lighter in the rear, has anyone tried heavier rear diff than front.
reason being if you run a looser front ball diff this gives more steering so would this work with geared diffs? I race on a wooden floor and found running lighter oils makes the car easier to drive but running light rear oils makes the car looser out of corners. |
From another well known forum-
Front Thinner : increases steering into corners (off-power) if oil is too thin the steering may become inconsistent, especially it can lose forward traction (and steering) during acceleration out of corners Thicker: increases stability into corners during braking increases steering on-power at corner exit .................................................. .......... ........................ .................................................. .......... ......................... Rear Thinner: increases cornering traction increases steering into corner Thicker: decreases rear traction while cornering reduces wheelspin |
thanks
cheers for the reply
