RC Rally cars
 

are the RC Rally Cars any good off road or is it only really loose dirt they are any good on

Schumacher use to do one but it was actually a bosscat with a different chassis mount I think it was an RS Cosworth. The bodyshells shapes really do not lend themselves to offroading just dirt. If you think about suspension movement etc. Hence why any serious offroad looks like a buggy or goes further and looks like a monster truck.

They work perfectly well off road, dirt, gravel, hard, flat sand, short grass, the only surface they really have problems on is longer grass or badly rutted surfaces due to the low ground clearance.

They go really well on any modern 1/10th off road track, Tamiya rally blocks work really well on astroturf and dirt, but they don't fly too well so don't try and launch them over bigger jumps.:thumbsup:

If you ride rally car on offroad circuit, it's not rally, but rallycross... Rally car is best on long, narrow rally track like this

It was one of the Tamiyaclub meets we had, between 2004 and 2007. We hired the track for one weekend every year so Tamiyaclub website members could get together. No racing was involved, it was just so members could meet up and run their vintage buggies and cars, from the old Sand Scorchers to Clodbusters and everything in between, for example:


Unfortunately the meets were stopped as Kidderminster insisted each driver who attended was a BRCA member, and as the vast majority just bash in their cars very occasionally having to get them all to join the BRCA for one weekend just wasn't going to happen.

1/10th rally/rallycross is awesome , we used to race indoors on polished boards with rally cars , heats of 5-8 and it was a right giggle , if someone just made a decent rally chassis ( 200mm like the old HPI rs4 rally ) this class would be very cool :-)

Wezzer: there are lots of rally cars, because almost every TC can be converted... in Czech republic we're racing with xrays, Tamiya TA's, TB's or TRF41x, Yokomos etc

Dont worry peeps, they are on the way, and this isnt a touring car upscale, A proper off road rally car :thumbsup:

We run a 6 round WRCA summer championship using 16th scale LRP Sharks with Phat Bodies Mini bodies ... its been a really popular championship and last year even saw guys from other clubs attending the madness !!

Some rounds we use foam tyres and some rounds with MB inner tubes over the foams for the Scandinavian rounds (low grip !!) :woot:

now im used to driving buggies how much different or similar are they and what is a decent one to get on a cheap budget just for bashing around but looks good (electric)

its a shame they havent done what the tamiya did and run the exhaust out the back of the car,they look awsome fun,any idea of price?
