No Racing over Easter Hols 7th & 14th Apr

Sorry to disappoint you all, but there is no racing on Tues 7th and 14th April. Alfie is taking holiday and there is no one else to open up.

Racing as normal on the 31st March '09

Racing is back on the 21st April '09

Please pass the word, so nobody turns up by mistake.

doors open at 5:45, seperate 2wd and 4wd mod classes run and a 2wd&4wd merged 20t 540 sealed can class is run every saturday,

booking in usualy closes at around half6/quarter to 7

first heat on line at 7.00 with 3 or 4 rounds of qualifying and finals and finish around 10/half10

i will have to get a confirmation for you if york is on this saturday as we were meant to be holding the brca indoor finals this weekend but now thats been cancelled so not sure if theres going to be a usual club night put in place or not on saturday

theres no racing at york on the 11th or 18th due to holidays :(

If the support is there, then I'm sure something could be arranged, but as has been proved with the indoor finals etc, no support, no racing.

Peter

And bury is 2+ hours away

dayxwalker 30-03-2009 02:20 PM

Peter may have a point here ! If there was no Jarrow then there would nowhere to race buggys that isn't a miles away. We need to premote the club more with things like the drift event that was cancelled !

Which was cancelled due to the same problem, lack of interest, we had 6 drivers left each day and needed 18. We also had no offer of help with the track etc which needed transporting and building on the Friday (this is not me having a dig at anyone as I understand everyone has their own committments but we can't do everything on our own) We were going to have to cover the costs from our own pocket for hiring a van, sort gazebos, generators (again costs), pay for me and the boys to get in to help etc etc which for half a dozen to put on an embarrassingly empty display wasn't worth me screwing my back up before I go on holiday lugging stuff about with Peter. I'd have gone to the costs and time it would have taken, as planned, if the support was there. Shame but the way things go when there is no support for it as I'd already gone to a lot of effort setting this up with meetings etc. Unfortunately I'd had to make a definate decision based on number entered before the indoor finals was cancelled, deadline to let them know was before then or it may have been possible if more had been interested.

There was only low intrest due to the indoor finals. And I dont think the finals were cancelled due to lack of north east entries. It was those darn southerners...
