1/14th, 1/16th noob question!

Can someone explain how the phat bodies chunk and Carisma gt14 are classed as 1/16th scale when the losi 8ight is classed as 1/14th?

I ask because the BRCA dimensions for each class would suggest that the Carisma GT14 and Losi cannot compete against each other. Although both 4wd.

I'm looking at building my own 2wd 'home brew' micro buggy and can't work out which scale dimensions/ regulations I should be working to.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? :eh?:

Cheers

Adz

Easy ...

it doesn't matter what you call the scale, the overall dimensions are the same .... and we call it 16th

Max wheelbase is 190mm, max width is 209mm .. .. and all use Tc wheels/tyres

Homebrew is proving popular in 2wd these days, we had at least 3 different versions this year .. plus the Chunks ...

What you planning on basing your car on ?

Cheers Simon- that clears all that up!

Not completely sure what I plan to base it on just yet. Probably the old X6 or maybe Triple-x.

I am sure your vast 'home brew' knowledge will be called upon again soon!

The X6 has most of the right bits for a conversion .... I did see somewhere CML are making a moulded gearbox case for the Centro which could be usable ... could be pricey if you bought the whole car tho :o
