Thanks for the setup sheet. Can I ask what final you run in?. Just wondering how the car fairs against the likes of xb2's,b6's and so on.

I was 7th in the A final with 2 PR cars and 4 Cougar KC's ahead of me, all regular runners there, was pretty happy as this was my first time there with the car and first time on EOS carpet.

Glad to here you had a good result, especially as it was your first run with it. I had a quick run with mine after my 4wd regional yesterday and it felt good on a bumpy(mainly)high grip Astro track. First run on carpet will be 23rd Sep.

It wasn't my first time running the car, just the first time I had run it at Silverstone.

I was informed Sunday that the carpet we'll be running on is eos carpet so should be interesting.

Is it right you have got the shocks on the rear. I have tried them on the rear for damp/low grip conditions and found it makes a profound difference but not what I would say would suit high grip. Wasn't sure if it was a typo

tyreman 25-08-2017 09:32 PM

Sorry that would have been shocks on the front

No worries. Thought that might be the case

I've attached my set up for outdoor astro to the bottom of this post. This is the base set up I use everywhere, with only a few minor tweaks to dial the car in. I primarily use a ball diff outdoors at the moment, most of the tracks around the mid-west seem to drop in grip enough to warrant it, become sandy and dusty and I feel the ball diff makes the car a lot more forgiving to drive, I'd use a gear diff with 7.5K fluid only when the grip is very high, but this is a personal choice. The added weight also helps the car ride the bumps better, with the switch to 35wt oil in the rear with 1.8mm pistons providing better damping, particularly helping it to jump and land better. Ritchie Thorn tried this set up at Coventry Regional a few weeks back and liked it, with a couple of minor changes to make it more to his liking he took a leg of the A final! Hope this helps!

My astro set up is very similar, but I'm on higher grip so with a gear diff.

Maybe need to get the anti roll bars and play with them.
