New CF XB2 chassis coming???

Heard about it and then saw this.
I think it defo need to be lightened so this looks good, but what... it will probably be here next winter right?

Nice if thats an alu kick up or swappable plastic bit like the yok but time will tell

Really hope the rear end and kick up is strong, don't want the problems like with the dimec chassis and other CF chassis for the DEX210

I have a carbon xb2 chassis, but not tried it yet...

Std kickup at present, but hoping to try a 19 degree version too..

OneKiwi 09-03-2014 06:34 PM

Are they available or is that a one off

Origineelreclamebord 09-03-2014 07:11 PM

Has anyone considered that it may also be a protective sheet that's partly torn/worn off? :eh?: I'm not saying it's not a carbon chassis at all, I'm just saying that it could be something less spectacular too... :p

Carbon/ally

Looks like it could be a carbon fibre sticker on an ally chassis
We'll see hey

tomtom 09-03-2014 09:59 PM

Seems like a shorty chassis like a DB2, carbon fiber with carbon shorty tray from what I've seen

HeavyD99 10-03-2014 02:19 AM

DHawk make a carbon fiber chassis for the 4WD - I asked them to make one for the 2WD with the front kick up. This one above may or may not be cf but I think one will be available eventually.

Mine is made by a friend, although he may make more as he now has the tool..

OneKiwi 10-03-2014 11:34 AM

Its not CF tape on the chassis.

Do you have any pics x313? What would he take for one? send me a PM

Chris-S 10-03-2014 12:44 PM

My guess, this will be the car with the DB2/TM2 layout and by the looks of it, a flat aluminium chassis without the plastic tub. You will also notice there are no body off shots of the XB4 2wd in existence.

Lee24h 10-03-2014 01:21 PM

just let xray develop the car then we can all go out and buy it when its ready

Matt Butcher 10-03-2014 03:21 PM

something not normal under there...

Do you use the full length top deck for rigidity?

Interesting....does anyone actually think xray need a new high grip car at the minute though? Surely a low grip option should be top of the agenda?

Nope, the std 2wd part so far… The rear diff housing bolts to the plastic tub anyway...

How much weight does it shave off?

Adam F 11-03-2014 10:22 PM

No idea, wasn't really looking to save weight, more to add flex hence the 45 degree layup.
