+8 chassis for mid motor carpet
 

hey everyone

I'm from Canada and once it gets cold out we run indoors on carpet. I want to get a +8mm chassis for running my 210 mid motor of course.

There's a bunch of carpet tracks around me one is really big and has really high bite. So I was thinking the DIMEC20 chassis, since its so high bite and it's always warm in side. The other carpet tracks around me aren't as high bite they look close to the carpet you guys run on in europe.


What are you guys europe on carpet the DIMEC or the DIMEC20?

Hi mate,

if you race on high grip carpet then you want to go for DIMEC20 chassi, which is stiffer.

A stiffer chassi will give you a more consistent feel.

The DIMEC is really designed to be used on low traction surfaces, as the exta flex will aid grip.

Simple choice if you ask me, DIMEC20 for high grip, DIMEC for low grip.

Im wondering then if that new square/rectangle looking battery strap will stiffen the chassis and act like a top deck.?

I have the DIMEC on its way to me so Ill try it out and do my own strap from some 2.5mm carbon fiber

Hi mate,

i have tried the DIMEC20 indoors twice so far. The chassi was really good and helped calm the car down.

I did revert back to the standard kit chassi, mainly because the tracks i was racing on were really tight and technical. The car reacted quicker with the shorter kit chassi.

If the track's had been more open and flowing, then for sure the +8mm would have been the right choice.

It's good to have options though, and i will be using the +8mm chassi on high grip tracks, outdoors and in rear motor on dirt.

I been thinking of running the Dimec chasis in rear motor on a mix of carpet and polished floor

Just tried the dimec 20 chassis on indoor high grip astro and have done my quickest ever times.
I just need a little more steering as the car is now a lot easier to drive quickly ( more forgiving ) although i still need to improve my driving and consistincy. running the car at 1560 gms and when i tried the 66 g brass bulkhead steering was better but jumping was far worse.
Didnt get a chance to try with different front springs etc to compensate for the weight, but happy with the chassis.

A club mate had the brass bulk head and ran the shorty lipo back, the car seemed to jump really well

I tried this and it still jumped very nose heavy 66g weight for sale?
The best i found was a 300g std battery and no other weight, using yellow minispikes on the front with outer row cut.
