hirobo build or not too

Hi. I have a new , unbuilt, boxed hirobo rock'n'vega and don't no if I should build it or not?
What do you think and your reasons :-)

If it was me I'd build it - I build up all my vintage cars - cant stand the idea of them being hidden away unbuilt in a box when they could be all assembled in a nice display cabinet :D

All depends on what you intend to do with it.. If it is just a investment , then it will hold its value better boxed and un built.... However if you want to look at it , as a shelf queen, then build it...better still, race it at vintage events..
Back in the day , I had one of the first Hirobo City.., just about the first 4wd rc car.. It just blew away the Tamiya Frogs etc that the others were racing.!:)

That's what I was thinking :-) although doubt I'd race it as I think spares may be an issue !!

I have some used bits of 2 old hirobo cars and my opinion is:
If you plan to race it make sure you got a place where you can run it regularly.
I have built several projects on vintage bases and the only ones I keep running are the ones which are competitive enough to have fun with in stock or full-out racing. Everything which is more 'fun' oriented or aimed at the vintage races (1or 2 a year) just ends up on the shelves or back in parts.
The hirobos won't withstand the violence of modern 4 wd's, nor will they handle the kind of moters used in that class, so unless you have a place that runs a vintage or stock class, I don't think you will enjoy it much.
