What pinion?

Hi Guys
I'm new touring cars, but just about to order a Schumacher Mi1 with a Speed Passion Cirtix Sensor ESC Combo 13.5T Ultra Sportsman V2.0 from Modelsport, will be running around at the Moto Arena and Bedworth, can you give me an idea of what pinions I should be buying with the kit.

Use to race buggies a few years ago and starting to get back into it.

thanks

Andy

tricky one as it depends on the track.. when i ran tourers i ran a ratio in the 7's for twisty tracks (smaller pinions such as 21-25) & 6's for big open fast tracks (anything up to the 30's). A lot of it though depends on the motor temperature after a run, if the motor is boiling hot, run a smaller pinion, if it's cool, run a bigger one.

Ideally you want to get the car at it's top speed (i.e it keeps accelerating until it can't go any higher) just before you need to slow for the corner at the end of the straight.

thanks for the reply, are you able to post a link to the pinions I should be buying, which do you recommend, sorry to ask, but don't want to buy the wrong type, are these the correct type? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/rw-48-dp...products/38175

motos a big track so you will need to gear it to suit, tbh best thing is ask others that race there what motor turn and gearing they have
