Corona isolation plans / projects

So the people who are staying indoors what are your RC related projects you are going to be starting / finishing?

My plans are
Paint my Subaru Impreza shell for the Tamiya TT02 which I bought / built at Christmas.
Put the summer set up on my Cougar KC so its ready for the outdoor season.
Strip my Losi XX and do a full rebuild and fit modern electrics.

I'm self isolating (from the wife) mostly:D:D

Seriously? No one's gonna take advantage of this lockdown to spend your time with your family? :eh?:

lofty2332 24-03-2020 08:34 AM

So my plans have changed, just ordered a PR Racing S1 V3R EVO so hoping it turns up soon and I can build that during lock down.

Just upgraded mine with some of the 2020 spec parts. Just the stiffer new front wishbones have most certainly helped on carpet. The steering is just a little more consistent and predictable. I'll be upgrading mine to full 2020 spec when I can.

Not much choice here :D:D

Anyway:-

1. Rebuild both cars fully
2. Finally get my son's car sorted and get him practicing in the garden/on the drive
3. Sort out all my stuff
4. Get rid of 2 x cars I no longer need
5. Sort out my workspace properly (proper man cave in development)
6. Maybe treat myself to something for winter club racing
7. Get on to VRC

All this in between working at home, home schooling and looking after wife in self isolation. Happy days!

Not sure my mum will want to rebuild my diffs

In all seriousness, here's mine!

2WD Buggy - Finish building/wiring new kit ready to go outdoors
Frontie - Line chassis with heli-tape so can be used outdoors
Associated B4 - Finish restoring, add kit set-up and paint bodyshell
M03 - Rebuild shocks, add internal limiters
Rallycross - Add stiffer springs, thicker diff oils ready for some testing
LMP - Buy new Lipo and rewire

Then bang new receivers in them and chuck them on a set-up station!

i had big plans to do all kind of things including building the (probably about 10!) FPV drones i've bought loads of parts for :eh?:
so far its been Netflix overdose. i have read 2 books last week & have been walking 4-6km a day.
been fiddling with some old cameras this morning :bored:

teamorsum96 12-04-2020 04:35 PM

Learn how to paint lol

mark christopher 12-04-2020 04:46 PM

To be fair not touched my cars, ordered loads parts, but done loads of jobs round the house and garden that had been put off due to racing, now have many race tokens to exchange for playing

Mattyb6 13-04-2020 08:50 PM

I got quite bored and built myself a short wheel base t5m, with some sort of carbon look chassis and hummer body, hopefully it will drive ok once the racing starts again. My next plans include cleaning my old schumacher 21xtr and maybe get it running again.

So how are we all doing with our projects then?

Completed 2, 4 and 7. Partially completed 6 which has lead to a No. 8 - strip and rebuild it

Other than that, been knee deep in work, looking after family and frankly not much time for RC

mark christopher 14-05-2020 09:20 PM

still not touched mine, not in a big rush tbh

taking the attitude been racing over 30 years, another3 or 6 months aint going to kill me, but rushing out to go may.
