How to visually tell if a spring is V1 or V2

Bearing in mind the rates are slightly different between the two versions per colour how can I tell if I've got a V1 or a V2?

Hi,

The V2 springs have a bigger coil spacing and have a paint mark for colour code.

V1 have small coil spacing and heat shrink for colour code.

With this question about V1 and V2 springs.

Hi,

For the rear 2lb - 2.3lb spring range.

For the front 4lb - 5lb spring range.

This is assuming you are running on high traction carpet / astro etc.

If you are running low traction, then you'll need lighter springs.

On my B6.1 on medium traction indoor astro track I am running red V2 (4.3lb) front and blue V2 (2.2lb) rear.

Thanks Mick.

i run on a mix of gym floor and sections of carpet and currently use V1 springs of blue 2.3 rear and purple 4.2 front. Both with 35wt oil and 1.6 front and 1.7 rear pistons.

Hi,

Try the equivalent rate in the V2 springs.

The V2 are different even at the same rate as there are a different number of coils, V2 v V1 springs for the same rate and size of spring.
